Bigg Boss 16 final list of contestants: Is Bigg Boss 16 lacking a big push?

Compared to earlier seasons of the popular reality show Bigg Boss on Colors, hosted by Bollywood star Salman Khan, particularly Bigg Boss 2017 and 2018, this season seems to be very timid and placid.

The earlier (pre-Covid) seasons of 2017, 2018 and 2019 saw a major publicity and media push by the makers and both the channel and the production house went out of its way to spread the hype.

This time all this is lacking or wanting. We can’t feel the buzz in the air and there is hardly any information (or leaks) coming out of the channel and the production house.

It seems the makers have not been able to rope in a lot of sponsors and there is a shortage of money. While 2020 and 2021 seasons were understandable due to the Covid slowdown in business and advertising revenue, the TV industry has more or less returned to pre-Covid days.

Or is it that the OTT segment is taking away a lot of advertising revenue, leaving shows like Bigg Boss with little or almost nothing?

Meanwhile, the names of the probable contestants doing the rounds include Chandani Sharma, Gautam Vig, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, Sajid Khan, Sumbul Touqeer, Shiv Thakare, Tina Dutta, Shalin Bhanot, Sreejita De, Karan Kundrra, Munawar Faruqui, Shivin Narang, Tina Dutta, Shalin Bhanot, Manya Singh, Kanika Mann, Soundarya Sharma and 2-3 more.

We are not sure if all the above names will eventually be seen on the show, but what we are definitely sure about is the fact that the above names were in talks with the show makers and had reached the final stage of negotiations.
