Goa to host Asia’s biggest fashion glam event – Global Goa Fashion Week (GGFW)
PANAJI: The coastal state of Goa is all set to host one of the biggest fashion events in Asia – the Global Goa Fashion Week (GGFW) in December this year.
Post the Covid pandemic which saw the closure of all major events and shows across India, the Global Goa Fashion Week will herald in the biggest fashion event after the shutdown.
With more than 190 designers from different parts of India and abroad confirming their participation for the Global Goa Fashion Week 2021, which is a part of The Fitness, Fashion & Glamour International Tour 2021, the event promises to rock India and the fashion industry in the country, after a huge coronavirus-induced shut down for nearly six months.
Goan ace designers like Verma Dmello, UK-based Goan-origin Raymond Fernandez, Philu Martins, Monty Sally, ace designer Riyaz Ganji from Mumbai, Umair Zafar from Lucknow/Mumbai among the 190 others, who will showcase their creations at the Goa Global Fashion week.
The 4-day event will be held at a 5-star beach-side property in North Goa near Vagator.
Goan model and actress Cherlyne Martins will be walking the ramp along with 200 other models and showstoppers.
Bollywood is expected to attend this event in full strength and at least 5 A-listers will walk the ramp. This will probably the first big national event after the Covid pandemic, which brought the fashion industry to a stand sill.
An exhibition of Indian traditional fabrics will also be part of the glam profile. Kunbi fabric from Goa and Chikankari from Lucknow will be on display at the show.
